Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, has died aged 50. His contribution to popular music has been phenomenal and he truly deserves the status of a legend.
Michael was born into a working class family and he began his music career at the tender age of 6. He was part of the Jackson 5, a group consisting of the five Jackson boys who were managed by their father Joe Jackson.
Michael Jackson's talent exploded when he embarked on his solo career and he produced the record breaking Thriller which went on to sell 60 million copies worldwide.

SPRING CELEBRITY WEDDINGS IN 2009

A number of celebrities have chosen to marry in spring in 2009.
Bruce Willis, famous for his role in the movie, Diehard, wed his 30 year old girlfriend, Emma Hemingway in the Caribbean. She is a successful lingerie model. Demi Moore, Bruce Willis' first wife and her husband Ashton Kuthcher and Bruce's three children were invited guests at the wedding.
Danica McKellar and Mike Verta also married in spring. Danica Mckellar is famous for her role as Winnie Cooper in The Wonder Years and her husband is a composer.
The British singer, Natasha Bedingfield married a successful American businessman Matthew Robinson in Malibu.
Harrison Ford who is famous for his role in the Indiana Jones movie, became engaged to Calista Flockhart who stars in the television series: Brothers and Sisters.

The Oscars - 81st

The 81st Oscar Awards ceremony provided glitz and glamour. The most amazing part of the Oscars for me was the fact that a little known movie, "Slumdog Millionaires", won 8 oscars - Danny Boyle won best director and showed his joy by jumping like Tigger in "Winnie the Pooh" and the movie also won an oscar for the best picture. What an almighty achievement! The excitement created in the movie is pure magic and conjures images of fantasy in the audience.
The best actor award went to Sean Penn, a truly gigantic actor in Hollywood and the best actress award went to Kate Winslet who was absolutely thrilled to win the award.
The oscar for supporting male actor went to Heath Ledger posthumously. His parents were present at the Oscars to witness the honour bestowed upon their son. The best female supporting actress went to Penny Cruz who stated that the arts are an international phenomenon.
Mention must be made of Hugh Jackman who performed his role as host of the Oscars in an energetic, talented and magnificent manner. He received rave reviews for his role on a truly magical night.

The Changeling - Angelina Jolie

THE CHANGELING movie is a powerful true story about a mother's search for her son and the LAPD's shame at treating the mother like a mentally deranged person. Her son Walter diappears. She looks everywhere for him. Just when she'd given up hope, a boy turns up claiming to be her son. She knows that he is not her son, but she takes him into her home. She challeges the authorities and they claim that she is an unfit mother...
This looks like it will be the movie of 2009. Clint Eastwood's direction is masterful and Angelina Jolie's portrayal of the desperate mother is superbly portrayed.
